Sarah Plata is a New York City based makeup artist specializing in beauty and character makeup. She comes from a performing arts background where she realized the transformative powers that makeup added to her character preparation and her overall confidence. While studying for her masters in vocal performance at The Boston Conservatory, Sarah worked at the Chanel Beauty counter at Lord & Taylor. There she learned more about beauty and skincare for a wide range of clientele. Her performance and retail background provided Sarah a knowledge of beauty makeup, stage makeup, hair styling, and professionalism.

 

Sarah attended Make-Up Designory and obtained her Master of Makeup certification. There she built on her range of abilities by adding character makeup and special effects to her set of skills. Soon after completing her training, Sarah excelled as a Color Expert at Lip Lab by Bite while working as a freelance makeup artist.

 

Sarah just recently finished her apprenticeship at The Juilliard School in their wigs and makeup department. While at Juilliard, Sarah partook in running all four of their opera productions and three productions of their drama department. Along with progressing her makeup skills for the theater, she furthered her ventilation skills and learned how to build facial hair and wig foundations.
